RestNrilekS On Blog for FT

On friday the last week of Ramadhan, i received an invitation thru email. It was an invitation of "Blog for FT" launch, organized by Ministry of Federal Territory, and jointly organized by few corporate partners. I answered "yes" which later, prior to the event, i regreted in answering it. I am not much of a social person. Me being typical me, hate to be in crowded places, hence, my non-experience in blogger's gathering and such. Lol! I had mixed feelings of going. But then, few of my office mates encouraged me to go.

So, last Monday, with all my mighty might and courage, plus chanting like lunatic to myself (i will go to Pavilion!! 3x!) i went to the so-called event of Blog for FT.

In a nutshell, Blog for FT is a contest to encourage the public to blog about the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan. It is a contest of positive FT blogging.

Here are the objectives (owh! taken directly from the site, word by word)

• To create positive Internet buzz about the Federal Territories (FT).
• To promote the spirit of 1Malaysia.
• To serve as a powerful marketing and promotional tool for KL, Putrajaya & Labuan.
• To highlight the positive activities being carried out by individuals, charities and groups in the Federal Territories.

As for topics to blog about : (again, taken directly word by word )

• Blog positively on any aspect of the Federal Territories; life, heritage, nature, history, architecture or on any subject close to your heart.

Contest Period

• The contest starts on October 5, 2009 and ends on January 5, 2010.

And finally, who can join :

• Malaysian Public - This category is open to all Malaysian citizens except those that fall under the Malaysian Media or the Junior Categories.
• Junior - This category is open only to Malaysian citizens below the age of 18 as at 31 December 2009.
• Malaysian Media - This category is open to employees of Malaysian Media Companies registered with the Malaysian Government.
• International - This category is open to non-Malaysian citizens.

There will be 5 winners each month for each category except international, and these winners will be shortlisted for the finale. Prizes are full of awesomeness!! Whoa!! No doubt the prizes are quite tempting, but knowing how RestNrilekS works, i doubt i can secure my chance. Alas!! i will not give up. Aha!

Now check out the third Grand Prize - Dell Studio Hybrid + 1 Blackberry Gold + RM500 Bubba Gump Food Voucher and A trophy. Awesome right (drooling here)? Just hope on to Blog 4 FT to feast your eyes on other prizes. That will even blow your mind away, well at least for me : )

So, people of the so-called bloggers, what are you waiting for, put your creative thinking cap and start blog positively. However, if you feel like cursing somebody or venting out your anger on how unfair life is (tsk! tsk! tsk!), this contest aint your cup of tea . Wah! Surprisingly, the starting round is encouraging. There are, at this time of writing, two entries on media, four on Junior and 45 entries on public. Oh! you can blog in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Inggeris as well.

Anyway, enjoy some pictures snapped on that day using my N82. Owh! boy!! They did came with their full digital gears. I felt so puny. Lol!! They did some sketch on what FT was all about and best was the drumming part - such a halwa lah since the sound was harmoniously orchestrated.

Abang! yeah i know probably you were wondering how puny my gadget was . Even Kak Emila came with her Nikon. Well, at least, our gadgets did have the same alphabet. "N". High Five Kak Emi. Haha!!

Imagining the Grand Prize? Yes the power of subconsious mind.

What is a social event without a little makan-makan? The Food was great. I should have pulled a chair and sat on that table. Do you spot anybody familiar?
